Well-known TV and radio personality, Angela Rippon, became Patron of Stannary Brass Band in 2001. She accepted the position, following in the steps of Edward Woodward, O.B.E., who had been the band's patron since 1995.
Angela Rippon grew up in the Tavistock area, which is situated on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. She is pleased to be linked with the town through her patronage of the band.
In June 2002 the band was proud to welcome Angela as Guest of Honour at their Summer Concert held in Tavistock Town Hall.
Angela Rippon hosted the band's Christmas Charity Concert in 2003 which raised £800 to help physically challenged people in Tavistock.
